Yeah a mate was telling me about this. Utter nonsense, if that was the case then put half the places in a ballot and the other half on a waiting list.
Better than pricing out so many families, as you say otherwise it just looks like they want to put off the "riff raff".

It's free at loads of clubs inc Arsenal.& Man City.
Apparently the kids dont even get that much for the money paid out. Another example of the board ripping off fans.

In the same way as other things that are overpriced it will be defended by some twat coming out and saying "its all about supply and demand"
Simon Jordan on TalkSport on Monday defended it by saying that whilst overpriced if it was free there would be such a long list of applicants that the vast majority of those on the list would never get selected anyway. its a bit like saying that there has to be some sort of charge to keep the riff raff away.

There are many things HU are trying to get change on, but don't for one second think that this mascot business is a small affair. In fact, when you think about it, it is one of the biggest issues out there, not least because it would be sooooo easy for the three leeches to fix, and wouldn't even scratch the club's or squad's income by making mascot packages free to lottery winners in the Junior Hammers.
I signed the petition without hesitation, by the way.

£700 for a kid to be a mascot, a unforgettable day he’ll love and prob cement him as a supporter for life and they want £700 quid for it. Utter utter scum those 3.

I did it when there were only 3 mascots.
Got looked after and in the dressing room with the players. it was excellent.
now is a joke with what 12 mascots and at 700 a go is pathetic from the club:

G&S got a shooing on TS over this earlier, they had the Brighton CEO on and even he said charging £700 for this was profiteering.
So good to see them being brought up on every shitty thing they do. Shame on them for having so many examples to highlight
